THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

HOW TO BE ALIVE WHEN YOU ARE ALIVE

Joe did not know that he had a spirit until later in life. It was while reading the book, The Elijah Task that he saw what the author had alerted him to – the truth that He had a spirit and that this spirit was the essence of himself and the part of him that communed with God. Joe knew he had a spirit before he read the words in the book but his mind did not know it. Our spirit knows things before our mind does, quite often because it gained this knowledge intuitively from God.

Religion and spirituality are not the same thing. What passes for spirituality in paganism, humanism, pantheism and legalism is the externalities of religion. But we are not spirit because we abide by some religious rite.

LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT
Jesus drew us out of the flesh into the spirit by joining us to God through the at-one-ment and the incarnation of Himself. He is the Life-Giving Spirit who has undone our separation in Adam and joined us to God in the One Spirit.

‘But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him’ 1 Cor 6.17 NLT.

Living in the law we are not one spirit with the Lord. We are separated from God in the lie that subverted Adam. The Law and old covenant belong to Adam and Moses’ age of separation in the regime of the knowledge of good and evil. This separation has been undone and we have been made one with God in Christ to participate in The One Spirit. Thus we are not wooden Believers living from externalities but whole persons filled with the spirit and life of the trinity who courses through our being.

FOR THE DELUDED – SEPARATION IS THE NORM
According to Watchman Nee’s spiritual anthropology. The faculties of the spirit are intuition, conscience and communion. Faith is operable within each of these faculties. One sees the Kingdom of God through intuition. One knows Oneness intuitively. One acts instinctively by conscience without referring to an external Law of right and wrong. One lives in the Spirit and walks in the Spirit. “If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” (Galatians 5:18). (1)

CHRIST IN YOU
So, we do not need to involve ourselves in the stratagem of ‘what would Jesus do? Because we know what Jesus is doing in our spirit that expresses Jesus in us. It’s incarnation and the expression of Jesus as you.
Myk Habets observes, “Jesus becomes more real, we become closer. God becomes more holy and more loving and more attractive. He’s not just a fuzzy power. He’s not just an energy, not just some force – he’s Christ in us.”
